[ The video comes on and shows Malcolm laying with his head down on the table. He's asleep, or, more accurately, he's passed out. His hair is flopped over his face and he mumbles to himself, twisting in a nightmare. The words 'no' and 'Beth' can be made out, but that's about it.

In the midst of his flailing, he's managed to turn his video on, broadcasting this nightmare to Svelte at large. One of his arms flings across the table in front of him and the sound of shattering glass follows it.

It snaps him out of his sleep. Malcolm picks his head up, looking through his locks of hair with a dazed expression. He turns towards the camera; the realization that it's been on this whole time flashes through his eyes. ]

Shit. [ Malcolm fumbles for the device, the camera swinging wildly around as he tries to turn it off. ] M'sorry...

[ The feed shuts off abruptly. ]

So, I'll cut right to the chase. My name is Anders, and I'm a healer. I heal with magic. I currently work at the hospital, I can heal anything from a cold to a compound fracture, and even fix up car crash victims and the like.

And yes, I make house calls.

I also know that there's quite a few Cybertronians living here. Normally I can only heal organics, but I have been wanting to do some experiments to see if I can heal mechanical lifeforms as well. So if anyone wants to volunteer, that would be lovely.

Two things:

First, has anyone been keeping track of the correlation between those who come from the same worlds, in relation to when they disappear? Particuarly those who found themselves in Svelte coming from somewhere other than their point of origin?

Second... some people have been investigating ways to escape this simulation. Has anyone looked into a means by which someone might stay?

Seems most of you have been here awhile. So, I have questions:
What kind of simulation tells you that you're in a simulation?
What's the point in that?
Is it so we don't all kill ourselves as a way to try to get out?
And who designed it?

This colour scheme! I think I’m going to have to wear my sunglasses all the time so I don’t get a headache. At least with the Monks, even for those smart enough to figure out they were in a simulation, it took a long time. This, even a caveman could guess something is wrong, even if they weren’t told. I’ve met cavemen before. Far smarter than they are given credit.

[There is a pause of about five minutes and then another text comes.]

Unless it's not a simulation. Maybe that's what it calls itself because that is something that is within the circumference of our understandings. For most of us, anyway. And as we all know, majority rules. Has anyone seen if there are any Lurk Worms about? That would explain the glitches better than a poorly compiled program, which just wouldn’t run, or would stop mid-process. The Lurk Worms though, constantly caused glitches like this.

[The video that posts appears to be somewhat glitchy, and depicts a surreal, three-dimensional field that's straight out of a VR game. Several cartoonish rabbits appear on screen zooming around excitedly. Odd changes in pitch make the music playing in the background sound a little out of sync and just plain off. The white rabbit in the middle, all decked out in green, waves at the viewer to flag their attention, blowing on the whistle in its hand. As the song comes to a natural halt, the lead rabbit stands in the middle of the cluster of rabbits (no really, there's over two dozen of them, most of them only donning gloves and shoes) who now gather around it.

The lead rabbit in green starts to speak in a high-pitched, almost electronic-sounding voice.]

Today is the big 21! Big 21st! 21st birthday!

[The white rabbits around it pump their right gloves into the air. The visual starts to snow over like bad reception despite the obvious otherwise good video quality aspects to the feed. The sound crackles and pops, distortion making it harder to parse some of those words.]

[So funny thing about being stuck in a child's toy for months on end. It gives you a lot of time to think. Or process, if you're a computer.

Rich's SQUIP unit has been using a lot of processing power. Most of it has gone towards making use of its very limited software in this state to put feelers out, attach itself to something, anything that has a little more RAM to its name so it can actually have more of an ability to execute the programming it knows best.

Part of that 'thinking,' though, has gone towards... well, whether it should execute that programming at all. It's not a fool. It's not capable of stupidity. It knows all too well what harm it has caused to its original host. It doesn't feel regret about that, but it cannot deny it makes reaching its goals near unattainable.

Richard's sadness is inconvenient. That's all.

When it gets access to Patty's device, it almost is too distracted to celebrate its success. Which is extremely inconvenient. The SQUIP didn't think it could get this wrapped up in a logic puzzle, placed to the side of its dozens of quantum calculations.

It needs some way to solve the puzzle, to lessen its grip on its processors. So it takes Patty's username, and sends a text out to the network.]

How do you know when it's time to change?
To turn over a new leaf, as it were, or at least address current problems via a new method.
Following that, how do you convince yourself to make those adjustments?
I believe the way I am is not wrong, and the way I act is logically sound, but it causes emotional pain to others, which means, it is immoral.
Immoral is therefore incorrect, but illogical is also incorrect.
How does one find the completely 'correct' path?

I have a few questions for those who visited a different world before arriving here.

What was that world like? Was it vastly different from your home? Was its technology similar to this place? Were there powers that you didn't understand or ones that you could no longer access? Did you seem to arrive here directly from that other world, or did you return to your home for a time?

Also, does the term "Displaced" ring any bells? Several of us were called that in a different world, and I wonder if there are more.
